Victor Osimhen’s Amazing Career Goal Stats
Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian football star currently playing for Napoli and making headlines around Europe with his impressive goal-scoring records in Serie A league, has gained the interest of some top European Champions League clubs like Manchester United, Bayern and Chelsea who show keen interest in signing him soon.
Career start in Belgium and Germany
Victor James Osimhen began his footballing journey at Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos before representing Nigeria at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Following this achievement he signed pre-contracts with Wolfsburg with hopes to join their Bundesliga outfit as early as January 2017. Unfortunately, injuries sidelined Osimhen from achieving that dream and forced him into looking at loan options as more playing time became increasingly scarce at Wolfsburg.
Osimhen made his Belgian club Charleroi his home for the 2018-19 campaign and quickly earned Player of the Season honors by scoring 20 goals across 36 appearances – ending it as their top scorer! Due to Osimhen’s stellar performances, he attracted interest from across Europe; Charleroi converted Osimhen from a loan move into a permanent move for just EUR3.5m before selling him LOSC Lille at an estimated value of up to EUR15m later on in the summer of 2019.
Finding his form at Lille
Osimhen enjoyed a remarkable 2019-20 season for Lille, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists across 27 league games and performing well in the Europa League. Following that performance, he signed a club-record EUR70m deal with Napoli, where his initial season in Naples was marred with shoulder injuries, suspensions, and coronavirus-related issues, as well as scoring 10 goals; surpassing that tally in subsequent Serie A and Coppa Italia campaigns.
Goals for Nigeria
Osimhen’s meteoric ascension to prominence can be traced to his stellar performances for Nigeria in various age groups – most notably at 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he earned top goal scorer honors with 10 goals! Since making his senior debut for the Nigeria team in 2017 he has become one of the 10 highest goal scorers for Super Eagles with an excellent goals-per-game ratio.
Victor Osimhen in FIFA 23
Victor Osimhen currently boasts an 85 FIFA 23 Rating with an 85 Potential Rating (+6 Growth), making him an attractive value option due to his relatively lower cost (around EUR60 Million compared to Mbappe or Haaland) when considering the quality. Yet Osimhen still boasts all of the qualities you would want in an attacking player, such as pace, physicality, and good finishing ability, plus more room to develop than his counterparts.
