Victor Osimhen Leading Napoli by Example According to Luciano Spalletti
After colliding with Milan Skriniar during Napoli’s Serie A match against Inter Milan, Osimhen sustained a fracture to his left cheekbone in November.
After undergoing surgery, the 23-year old was due to be out of action for 90 days. However, Osimhen returned to training using a mask only two weeks later.
Although he missed Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cameron, the former Lille player made his competitive return to action last month in Napoli’s match against Bologna. Prior to that, he played 26 minutes against Salernitana.
This weekend, Napoli will take on Venezia. Osimhen is expected to start. Spalletti has praised his star striker’s commitment. However, Spalletti believes that all the players need to match his attitude in order to help Napoli achieve their goal this season.
The Neapolitans currently sit in second place in the Italian top flight, four points behind leaders Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri lost against local rivals AC Milan. It could prove a result that can change the fate of the title race. With that in mind, Napoli needs to make sure victory is earned against Venezia.
