Victor Osimhen Closing in on a Return From Injury
Victor Osimhen has returned from Belgium following treatment for a shoulder injury reports La Repubblica. The striker last played for Napoli at the beginning of November.
Osimhen is reported to have returned to Italy where he will spend the Christmas holidays. The forward also looks to have successfully recovered from a shoulder injury that forced him on the sidelines for nearly two months.
The Nigerian’s last game for Napoli was the 1-0 victory over Bologna. In that game, he, actually, scored his team’s only goal. Throughout his tenure with Gli Azzuri, which began in 2020, Osimhen has proven vital to manager Gennaro Gattuso’s tactical plans.
La Repubblica also claims that Victor Osimhen will restart training with the squad. However, it is doubtful he will play in official setting before the year is over. This leaves Gattuso in predicament, also having to make due without his trequartista, Dries Mertens, also out through injury.
