Venerato Believes That There’s a Lot of Uncertainty Surrounding Napoli This Season

Journalist Ciro Venerato commented on Napoli’s current situation, decrying the uncertainty involved in Gennaro Gattuso’s contractual situation and the club’s transfer issues.

Venerato spoke to RAI about Gli Azzuri recently, issuing a warning to the club for the rest of the season. The journalist believes that the failure to give assurances to Gennaro Gattuso about his future at the club will hurt the team in the short term.

He says that this can also be felt in the transfer market. Napoli has recently come to an agreement for the transfer of Mattia Zaccagni, it has been reported. However, the player is set to complete the season for Verona before joining his new club.

Ciro Venerato says that the unfavorable transfer deal has a lot to do wth the general situation in which Napoli find themselves after failing to offer manager Gennaro Gattuso a contractual extension.

It is believed that Gattuso negotiated a new contract for several months. However, recently, following a string of unconvincing results, club’s Aurelio De Laurentiis has taken back the offer for now.

It is believed that De Laurentiis has been in contact with Rafael Benitez, former manager of the club. Benitez has been without a job for several months following his resignation as manager of the Chinese club, Dalian Professional.
