Transfer Boom! Reports Suggest Napoli Close to Signing Zaccagni
Mattia Zaccagni, one of the best rated young players in Serie A, is likely to sign for Napoli according to reports by Corriero dello Sport.
Certainly, Zaccagni is a player that many clubs will have been watching this season. The talented midfielder has been, perhaps, Verona’s best player this campaign. With his help, the club has climbed all the way to 8th place in the league.
The midfielder was particularly impressive in Verona’s 3-1 victory over Napoli at the weekend. The player provided an assist and managed to score the winning goal for his side.
This has further emphasized Aurelio De Laurentiis’ desire to sign the talented youngster. Corriero Dello Sport reports today that the transfer is almost a done deal. Their sources claim that Verona is likely to accept an offer of around 10 million Euro.
However, Zaccagni is unlikely to join Gli Azzuri this winter. The deal will most likely include a stipulation allowing the player to see out the rest of the campaign. After all, Verona has performed beyond what most would have expected and is eyeing a place in the Europa League for next year.
Mattia Zaccagni is 25 years old and plays, usually, as an attacking midfielder or a left-winger. He has performed very well for Verona this season managing five goals and five assists in the 19 Serie A games in which he was involved. The transfer would, no doubt, provide Napoli with a tremendous boost in quality.
