Surprise Deal! Kevin Malcuit Leaves Napoli for Fiorentina
It has been confirmed that full-back Kevin Malcuit will leave Napoli this winter and join struggling Serie A side, Fiorentina.
Rumors that Malcuit’s name was on the transfer list of Gli Azzuri have proven correct. The full-back has caught the attention of Fiorentina who will be loaning him out until the end of the season. It is expected that the deal could be made permanent based on the player’s performances.
Sky Sport also went on to report that it was current Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti, a legend of the Italian game, that suggested Malcuit. Viola has been struggling to find a player suitable to take on the role and has been forced to improvise throughout the season.
Kevin Malcuit joined Napoli back in 2018 from Ligue 1 side Lille. The player had been brought to Lille at the insistence of Marcelo Bielsa. His move to the Partenopei was made for around €11 million-plus bonuses.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina, who play Torino in Serie A tomorrow, has been struggling for form this season. Viola is in 12th place in spite of a squad that features many top names. It’s certainly a great distance from the results envisioned by club officials who will be looking to change the team’s fate for this season.
