Spalletti Bitter About Sassuolo Result and About Player Injuries

Luciano Spalletti talked to reporters about Napoli’s disappointing draw to Sassuolo and his players’ injuries suffered during the game.

In spite of the result, the manager believes that the Partenopei’s performance wasn’t terrible. Spalletti believes that fatigue played an important role in the final result.

The result comes from many things. At the moment that they started pressing, we lost a few too many balls instead of managing the situation. That is something determined by that moment in which they pressed more and we had accumulated fatigue. Or, perhaps, we felt that the 2-0 scoreline could not be recovered. We weren’t able to manage the situation well. After those substitutions we weren’t able to relieve the pressure and they created difficulties for us.

Luciano Spalletti also talked about the current condition of injured players Fabian Ruiz and Kalidou Koulibaly. Both were substituted during the second half.

I was about to substitute Fabiàn Ruiz. But, then he said another two minutes, another two minutes. In the end, his leg slipped and he felt a problem with his adductor. The same happened with Koulibaly, who felt a muscle problem and we substituted him. These are things that can happen. There is regret because we had played the match well and scored two deserved goals. Now there is a bit of bitterness, but the overall evaluation of the match is positive.
