Sarri and Nagelsmann Considered for Napoli Job
Napoli is looking at various managerial options for next season, reports Ciro Venerato of Rai Sport, Of these, Maurizio Sarri is the favorite to replace Gennaro Gattuso.
Talks of the Partenopei side replacing their current manager are still in full swing in spite of the team’s recent success against rivals AS Roma. Napoli is currently hoping for a fourth-place finish in Serie A.
Ciro Venerato, speaking live on Domenica Sportiva, shred his opinion that Aurelio De Laurentiis will be looking for a change of manager for the next season. Former Napoli manager, Maurizio Sarri, is, according to Venerato the favorite to take over for Gattuso.
The Rai Sport anchor thinks that Sarri would easily adapt to Napoli’s current squad which is similar to that of Juventus, the last team managed by Sarri.
Other managers that are said to be in contention include Paulo Fonseca, the current manager of AS Roma, who is also touted for a job in Portugal.
Julian Nagelsmann, the current manager of RB Leipzig, would be another name that Napoli would consider, although the young tactician might also be considered for the role of manager of the Germany national team.
Simone Inzaghi and Ivan Juric, current managers for Lazio and Hellas Verona, are two other names that De Laurentiis would be happy with, although it is unclear whether Napoli would be able to lure them away from their current position.
