Roberto Insigne Talks About His Brother’s Disappointment of Leaving Napoli

Roberto Insigne commented on his brother, Lorenzo’s, unwillingness to leave Napoli and join up with FC Toronto in the MLS.

If Napoli is naturally disappointed after the defeat against Fiorentina and the consequent elimination from the Italian Cup, Benevento is in high spirits. The Sorcerors team has five consecutive victories. They recently defeated Monza 3-1 on the eighteenth day of the Italian Serie B championship.

The result sees them draw to Brescia in second place in the standings. They are only four points away from leaders Pisa. The first goal of the match was scored by Roberto Insigne, in the seventh minute. The footballer, brother of Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne, was interviewed by Sky Sport at the end of the match.

The footballer was asked about his brother’s impending departure from Napoli to the MLS.

Lorenzo has decided to go to Major League Soccer. Toronto is far, far away. And, it’s cold. Surely his life will change, it’s inevitable. I think Lorenzo’s choice must be respected. He will go away from Naples which is his home. But I only say one thing: it is not his fault.

Lorenzo Insigne, according to various rumors, would have preferred to remain at Napoli if the Italian club had opted to renew his current engagement, Insigne earns around five million euros per season. However, Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis’s proposal was rejected by the player and his entourage.

Lorenzo Insigne is set to depart Napoli at the end of the 2021/22 campaign. He will join FC Toronto in the MLS.
