Napoli’s Koulibaly and Ghoulam Have Recovered From COVID-19

Finally, some good news for Napoli as two of their most important players, Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam, have tested negative for Covid and might be back in the fold this weekend.

Napoli has been forced to deal with an unprecedented injury crisis. Nowhere was this more apparent than against Granada, on Thursday, when manager Gennaro Gattuso was forced to improvise a lot of Gli Azzurri’s starting line-up.

The two players will, no doubt, provide Gattuso with more defensive options for the matches ahead. If fully fit, it is likely that the two could play a part in Napoli’s away match against Atalanta, on Sunday, in Serie A.

Koulibaly announced the positive news on social media, writing “We’ve come to help out.” HIs teammate, captain Lorenzo Insigne responded “Glad that you’re back.”

Meanwhile, Matteo Politano who struggled throughout the match against Granada could be out injured as well. Gattuso talked in the press conference after the game about the player’s issues saying that the winger struggled for breath throughout the match. Napoli’s medical team will evaluate the player today and there is a high likelihood that he will join the list of players unavailable for selection against Atalanta on Sunday.
