Napoli Record Vital 1-0 Victory Over Champions Juventus
In a hotly disputed match on Saturday evening, Napoli managed a vital home victory over Serie A champions Juventus. It is thought that the result could help save Gennaro Gattuso’s job as manager of Gli Azzurri.
After a turn of poor results that culminated with defeat to Atalanta in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, Napoli has recorded a Serie A victory over Juventus. The match proved a very disputed affair, with the Bianconeri furiously attacking in the final minutes of the game.
Manager Gattuso opted to start the match in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The biggest change to the Partenopei side’s lineup was Victor Osimhen who returned to the fold following a lengthy injury.
Meanwhile, Andrea Pirlo, who has been on a hot streak with Juventus in recent weeks, chose to adopt a 4-4-2 formation. The team’s best lineup was in place with Cristiano Ronaldo, Alvaro Morata, and Frederico Chiesa spearheading the team’s attack.
In the end, the difference came down to a single goal. Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne converted a penalty in the 31st minute after Giorgio Chiellini fouled Amir Rrahmani in the six-yard box.
Juventus went chasing an equalizer for the rest of the game, but Napoli’s brave defensive work paid off. It’s a tremendous victory for Gli Azzurri and one that may, potentially, save the job of their current manager Gennaro Gattuso.
