Napoli’s Predicted Line-up Against Salernitana in Serie A
Napoli faces relegation-doomed Salernitana with hopes of inching closer to Serie A leaders AC Milan. These are the predicted line-ups and formations.
Victor Osimhen returned to the field wearing a protective mask that covered his cheek muscles. He can now play the role of center-forward along with Dries Mertens.
The Belgium maestro will be looking to score against a 27th team in his long Serie A career, which is unlikely to include Napoli from next season onwards. Marek Hamsik, a fellow club legend (with 28 goals), is the only one to have scored more.
Hirving Lozano, who provided the matchwinner on Monday, and Matteo Politano, two will battle for a spot on the wing. Fabian Ruiz, meanwhile, should make his 150th Napoli debut in midfield, having returned from injury.
Salernitana manager Stefano Colantuono is also without center-back Stefan Strandberg due to a hamstring injury. However, Matteo Ruggeri, a fellow defender, is back in contention after he has recovered from the same issue.
Salernitana has been dealing with a number of issues lately. There’s the matter of the last-minute club takeover. The team’s very poor showing in Serie A should also weigh heavily on the minds of the players. Federico Bonazzoli and Simy should lead the attack for visitors if they are fit.
