Napoli – Atalanta: Probable Lineups
Napoli takes on Atalanta in the semi-final of Coppa Italia, a competition that the Gli Azzurri managed to win last season. Here are the expected line-ups ahead of the game.
Gattuso’s men will be anxious to attempt and hold on to the trophy that they won last season. Victories against Spezia and Parma in the previous rounds, give fans of the Partenopei side reasons to hope for the best.
Napoli will be without a series of its most important players. Dries Mertens is still recuperating from an injury to his ankles. Furthermore, Fabian Ruiz should still be out of contention after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Atalanta’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, will be hoping to get Cristian Romero fully fit in time for the game. Other players that should be out of the Coppa Italia clash include: Kovalenko, Palomino, Sportiello, Radunavic and Sutalo.
The probable line-ups for the two teams are as follows:
Napoli (4-3-3): Meret, Hysaj, Manolas, Koulibaly, Rui, Elmas, Demme, Zielinski, Politano, Lozano, Insigne
Atalanta (3-4-1-2): Gollini, Toloi, Romero, Djimsiti, Maehle, De Roon, Gosens, Pessina, Ilicic, Zapata
The two biggest surprises in the line-up might be the return of Alex Meret in goal, and Elijif Elmas being rewarded for his recent performance with a start ahead of Tiémoué Bakayoko.
The first leg of this Coppa Italia semi-final takes place on February 3rd at 21:45 at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples.
