Milik’s Parting Words to Napoli Fans
Arek Milik’s transfer to Olympique Marseille has been officially confirmed and the striker has issued a parting statement to fans of Napoli.
It is believed that Milik was the subject of a bidding war. Premier League clubs Everton and Tottenham are, according to DAZN, among the teams that took an interest in the player.
In the end, it was Marseille who acquired the services of the forward who scored 38 goals for Napoli since joining the club back in 2016. In spite of generally good performances, Milik’s failure to reach an agreement about his contract with Gli Azzuri resulted in the ultimate breakup.
The Polish striker has, however, not forgotten the fans that cheered him on during his time in Serie A. In a video posted to social media, Milik declares that he will never lose his love for the city of Naples. In the end, he claims that the city has given him as much as he has given back to it.
It is unclear whether Napoli will be in the market for a new striker during this transfer window, or if no new transfers are set to be announced until the summer.
