Out of favor Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik looks likely to sign for Olympique Marseille in the following days. The deal is expected to please all parties involved with Milik not having made a start for Gli Azzuri the entire season.
Milik’s time at Napoli seems to be drawing closer to an end than ever before. The Polish forward made quite a contribution in his time in Naples. The 26-year-old scored 38 goals in 93 appearances for the Serie A side.
However, his progress was curtailed by his refusal to sign an extension contract with the team.
The decision was swiftly made to remove the player from Gattusso’s plans, someting which has been maintained until the present day.
It now seems that French side Olympique Marseille are ready to snap up the forward. The Ligue 1 side are fiercely negotiating a deal. While all parties are likely to be thrilled by the short term result, things may get a bit more tricky in the future.
Napoli is asking for 8 million euros for the player, as well 5 million in bonuses, as well as a percentage of the player’s resell value. For the deal to be put into action, however, Gli Azzuri will most likely need to extend Milik’s contract. They will then sanction a loan to Marseille with the French club promising to transfer the Polish star once certain performance markers have been met.
Sources close to the club state that the deal could be announced within the next few days.
