Juventus’ Andrea Agnelli Makes Sly Dig at Napoli
Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has taken a fresh dig at their Serie A rivals, Napoli. The match between Napoli and Juventus, previously cancelled, will be replaced at a later date following the decision taken by CONI.
Juve may have won their important fixture against AC Milan this mid-week. However, the 3-1 scoreline was not enough to put Mr. Agnelli in a peaceful mood. The Serie A champions’ chairman posted an image of the the team’s buses on social media. The mysterious image was interpreted by many to be a comment on the decision to have the match between Napoli and Juventus replayed.
Following coronavirus concerns, Napoli were unable to attend the match in question. Confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus included Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas. Subsequently, Napoli lost the game 3-0 and were docked 1 point.
The decision has now been overturned. It has been decided that the match will be rescheduled at a later date that will suit both clubs. Expectedly, Juventus will be the least happy of the two sides.
Rivalries aside, both clubs have assured the authorities and football fans that they are committed to following the Covid-19 protocol as closely as possible.
