Italian Media Reports on Rift Between Players and Gattuso
Sports daily Gazetta dello Sport reports that a growing rift is developing between Napoli’s players and their manager Gennaro Gattuso.
Under pressure manager, Gattuso could be losing the faith of some of his players reports the Italian paper. The publication goes on to state that the situation at the Naples club is immensely tense.
According to the publication, some of the squad members have voiced their discontent at being played out of position. The Napoli coach has opted for a 4-3-3 formation and a series of tactical changes throughout recent weeks in order to deal with the team’s injury crisis.

Adding to the feeling of unease is growing discontent between owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and the clubs’ Sports Director, Cristiano Giuntoli. As previously reported, in recent weeks, rumors circulated about the possible sacking of Giontoli. This claim has been publicly denied by the club’s owner.
However, the newspaper now remarks that De Laurentiis is not only upset with the team’s current results, but also with some of the transfer dealings arranged by Mr. Giuntolo.
Napoli plays Atalanta today in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. It’s a match that, according to reports, could weigh heavily on Gattuso’s future with the club.
