Granada Facing Injury Crisis of Their Own Ahead of Napoli Clash in Europa League

Gennaro Gattuso is not the only manager facing an injury crisis ahead of the team’s Europa League fixtures. Granada’s manager Diego Martinez will also have to field a team without several important players.

Napoli is set to face Granada on Thursday, February 22nd, at 22.00 PM at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes. This is the first leg of the Round of 32. This is set to be the Spaniards’ first meeting against an Italian side in European competitions.

The Spanish side will be without players such as Luis Milla, Roberto Soldado, Luis Suarez, Angelo Montoro, Neyder Lozano, and Quini. Granada is enjoying another succesful La Liga season, currently sitting in 8th place in the league. The team lost their match against leaders Atletico Madrid.

Their opponents, Napoli will also field a squad modified as a consequence of recent injuries. Kalidou Koulibaly and Elseid Hysaj are out through a positive Covid-19 diagnosis. Andrea Petagna could be out as well, while David Ospina and Hirving Lozano are out for the following weeks due to muscular issues.

Napoli is currently still involved in three competitions and will be looking to add consistent form through their campaign, especially following the memorable victory against Serie A champions Juventus Turin.
