Gattuso’s Probable Napoli Line-up Against Genoa
Under pressure manager, Gennaro Gattuso must deal with several injury worries ahead of his side’s Serie A clash against Genoa. Here’s a look at what to expect from this game.
Napoli’s form has fluctuated in recent weeks. In the Italian top-tier they’ve managed three victories but lost two games during their past five appearances. Given repeated talks of a managerial substitution, Gattuso will know that he needs to make the best of his chances.
Genoa, meanwhile, under the guidance of manager Davide Ballardini, is in 14th place. They’ve won their past two games. The results have lead them outside of the relegation battle for now, but it will be essential for the team to earn points.
Gattuso will, once again, be forced to improvise his line-up, given injury constraints. First and foremost, Kalidou Koulibaly will be out due to a recent positive Covid-19 test. He will, most likely, be replaced by Nikola Maksimovic.
It also looks likely that Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens will be ready in time for the clash. Instead, Piotr Zelinski, Matteo Politano, and Andrea Petagna will form the attacking front three. It is expected, given what we’ve seen in recent matches, that Gli Azzurri’s manager will op for a 4-3-3 formation.
Here are the expected line-ups of the two sides:
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin, Masiello, Radanovic, Criscito, Zappacosta, Zajc, Badelj, Strootman, Czyborra, Destro, Shomurodov, Allenatore
Napoli (4-3-3): Ospina, Hysaj, Manolas, Maksimovic, Mario Rui, Elmas, Bakayoko, Zelinski, Politano, Petagna
