Gattuso Unhappy With Victor Osimhen’s Behavior

Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso addressed the absence of Victor Osimhen from his squad and confirmed that the striker is bound to be punished for his recent behavior.

Osimhen has been sorely missed throughout a period that saw the Nigerian striker dealing with shoulder injury concerns. Napoli’s poor run of form, however, ended on Sunday with Gli Azzuri recording a terrirfic 4-1 away victory over Cagliari.

What’s more, Napoli enjoyed a slew of chances. Piotr Zielisnki scored a double for his side, but the overall scoreline could have been considerably larger.

This does not make manager Gattuso breathe any easier. Osimhen was previously announced as a strong candidate to start the match having finished his recovery.

However, the player is said to have traveled to Nigeria to attend a birthday party. During his trip, the forward contracted COVID-19, ruling him unavailable for the followin weeks.

Gattuso says that while Osimhen has already apologized, he is still considering an appropriate way to punish the player in order to improve his behavior for the near future.
