Emerson Palmieri and Florian Thauvin Among Napoli’s Winter Transfer Targets

Emerson Palmieri and Florian Thauvin are two of the players that Napoli might be making a move for during the winter transfer window.

Napoli is looking to strengthen its position ahead of the second part of the Serie A season. Gennaro Gattusso’s team is currently in fourth place in the standings. However, injury concerns have marked the entire campaign. Club officials are hopeful that they can move in the transfer window and improve the squad in some key areas.

Emerson Palmieri is one of the priorities of the Partenopei. The Brazilian born player already has experience playing in Serie A. He played for AS Roma during 2015 and 2018. In 2017, he also earned Italian citizenship and would be eager to return. The player has been active in only two Premier League games under Frank Lampard this season.

Talented winger Florian Thauvin is also among the players rumored to be on Napoli’s radar. The French international’s career has hit a slump lately Olympique de Marseille and his departure looks imminent.

Besides the possible new arrivals, Gattuso will hope to soon be able to count on Dries Mertens and Victor Osimhen. The two influential players have been sidelined through injury, but should make a full return to the field soon giving Gli Azzuri fans hopes of a new Scudetto.
