Derby Del Sole, Napoli – AS Roma, Predicted Line-ups

Napoli takes on AS Roma tomorrow in one of Serie A’s most enduring derbies. The teams are separated by only two places, but also by nine points in the Serie A standings. The Partenopei starts the game as favorites. Despite this, the Scudetto now maybe just out of reach for Spalletti’s men.

Despite a goalless draw in October’s reverse fixture ending a domestic winning streak of eight games, Napoli’s lightning start in the Serie A campaign has allowed them to keep a substantial gap between themselves, and AS Roma. Technically, Napoli remains in the race for their first title for over 30 years.

The Partenopei had to look on as Inter and Milan took maximum points from last week’s fixtures. They will be starting at the Maradona with a deficit of five points from the leaders. Their recent defeat to Fiorentina felt like another wasted opportunity.

Spalletti’s team has won three of their four previous games by a score of 2-1. They look poised to repeat that feat against the Giallorossi on Monday night at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
