Could Simone Inzaghi Be Napoli’s Future Manager?
Current Lazio manager, Simone Inzaghi, is reportedly sparking the interest of Napoli who, according to sources, is preparing a big-money offer for the former striker.
Simone Inzaghi has earned a lot of praise for his handling of Lazio since taking over as manager of the club in 2016. At the time, the Biancocelesti were in crisis and Inzaghi’s shrewd tactical and financial dealings have, once again, transformed them one of the most succesful teams in Italy.
Inzaghi’s talent has not gone unnoticed. One of the clubs taking a keen interest in the manager’s development is Napoli who, as rumors have suggested throughout the year, could be parting ways with Gennaro Gattuso at the end of the current campaign.
Tuttomercatoweb reveals that Napoli’s owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has already lined up a big-money move for Inzaghi. The website states that the Partenopei side is willing to offer the young coach a 4 million Euro salary per year.
If the rumor is true, this would be a 1.5 million Euro increase over the sallary that Claudio Lotito, the president of Lazio, is, reportedly willing to offer Inzaghi. What is known though is that Lazio has already made their offer with the deal yet to be confirmed.
The future is certainly unclear at the moment with Napoli still, publicly, committed to their current manager Gennaro Gattuso. Luring Inzaghi away from Lazio could also prove problematic given his former involvement with the club as a player and as a youth coach. What is certain though is that Gli Azzuri is looking towards the future.
