Borja Mayoral Admits That He Once Offered the Player to Napoli
AS Roma takes on Napoli on Sunday with striker Borja Mayoral set to start the game for the Giallorossi. His agent recently made the admission that the player was once offered to Napoli, but the deal fell through.
Mayoral has impressed for AS Roma this season, netting 5 goals in the Europa League and 6 in Serie A. This may be the 23-year-old’s best season so far.
Alejandro Camano, the player’s agent, believes that his client has what it takes to cause Napoli plenty of trouble when the two teams meet on Sunday in Serie A.
AS Roma lost their last match against lowly Parma. Before that, they had won a difficult clash against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League, with the second leg due to being played on Thursday.
Mayoral began his career at Real Madrid and is still registered with the squad, having been loaned out in the recent seasons. Camano says that the forward is enjoying his time in Roma, and that manager Paulo Fonseca has made it clear that the player is a priority for him.
Camano also told Radio Kiss Kiss that he once had a discussion with representatives from Napoli to prepare a transfer. The deal did not go through even though Partenopei side highy rated Mayoral.
