Bayern Munchen Pursuing Kalidou Koulibaly Transfer
Kalidou Koulibaly has long been considered one of the best defenders in Serie A. Champions League winners Bayern Munchen are the latest team to be pursuing the defender for his signature.
Well-known Italian journalist Raffaele Auriemma wrote on Tuttosport about the proposed deal. According to Auriemma, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli’s president, has been in contact with Koulibaly’s agent. He has informed the football agent that the club is prepared to listen to offers for the player.
In the past, Koulibaly’s consistently good performances have brought him on the radar of some of Europe’s finest teams. Manchester United, for example, is one of the clubs that has consistently shown an interest in the Senegalese player.
Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all rumored to have monitored the performances of one of Serie A’s best players in years. Back in 2019, when the relationship between the player and Napoli had reportedly soured, a transfer was discussed at length in the sports publications.
It is believed that Fali Ramadani, the player’s agent, has every chance of brokering a deal with Bayern. The German champions are looking to restructure their defense following the rumored departures of David Alaba and Jerome Boateng.
The issue may be a monetary one, however. Koulibaly is evaluated by Transfermarkt at, at least, €60.00m. Napoli may even hope to sell one of their best players for a premium. However, Bayern, according to sources, is unlikely to wish to pay more than €45.00m for the defender. It remains to be seen if the player and clubs manage to reach an agreement in the following months.
